Where to go for Easter 2027 and the spring holidays

In short: in 2027, Easter falls early, on 28 March, with a long weekend until Monday 29 March. The French spring school holidays then run from 3 April to 3 May depending on the zone. It’s flower season: cherry blossoms in Japan, tulips in Amsterdam and Istanbul, and the mild Mediterranean spring. Book early: demand is high.

For the Easter weekend: by train or a short flight

Our tips for Easter and spring

1. Book early: Easter and school holidays push up flight and accommodation prices.
2. Check local public holidays: at Easter, some sites close and others are packed (the Vatican, Holy Week in Seville).
3. Choose free cancellation where offered.
4. Outside the European Union, check entry requirements (passport, visa, electronic authorisation) and your mobile plan.
5. Travel at the start or end of your zone’s holidays, when other zones are not yet off: it’s often quieter.
