Practical info about Bali

In Bali, traffic is slow and distances take time: choose your area based on what you want (beach, surfing or rice terraces), or plan two stops. A driver booked in advance makes airport transfers easier.

Foreign visitors must pay a tourist levy of IDR 150,000 per person, payable on the official Love Bali platform. Covering clothing is required to visit temples. Also check entry requirements for Indonesia.

What to see in Bali

  • Ubud: the Tegallalang rice terraces, the Monkey Forest, the royal palace;
  • temples: Tanah Lot, Uluwatu at sunset, Ulun Danu Bratan;
  • Mount Batur at sunrise;
  • Nusa Penida, by boat, for its cliffs and beaches.
